Even more Hockey Pool notices... etc...

First off, woot to Gautam and Jamieson for actually making it to the draft! I enjoyed myself, har har har...

Now, to all those in my pool, READ MY COMMISSIONER'S NOTICE, that thing on the main page. INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT if you want to have any chance of winning the pool...

***

I'm going to buy a laptop in the next few days. Which one should I get?? Asus A8JM, like I was thinking about before, or maybe the same as mohsin's, or ...?? I'm thinking Asus at the moment... although, that Acer Aspire 5672WLMI is looking mighty fine... but, hard to find... making the Asus look really nice... ... ...I think I might be going to pick one of these up soon, heheh...

***

Wow, I've dilly-dallied, and now it's 2am... I gotta get up relatively early tomorrow, big day too what with the longboat race, helping moving, church in the morning... then, doing stuff at night when everyone's doing that girls-night-out thing?? Heheh... wait, what's my point here... oh right, time for sleep is now...

Until next time, I guess...

SWEET

I'm in school mode.

Wide awake, doing a semi-allnighter.

I feel AMAZING!

Heheh... I'm such a dork...

[but man, I'm gonna feel like crap tomorrow, lol...]

I might as well do some of my resume stuff tonight also, I'm freaking wide awake as it is, hehe...

Until next time, I guess...

edit - HOLY CRAP, THESE GUYS ARE HILARIOUS!!!

From the makers of "totally uncalled for" vid... lol, so awesome...

Until next time, I guess...

Yet Another Day...

This post is gonna be a boring semi-rant... but first things first:

HOCKEY POOL REMINDER: To all those in the pool, remember that the draft's this friday at 11:30am!! Woo hockey! Also, if anyone's still interested, there's still a couple spots open...

And now onto the boredom-inducers:

Wasted the past, oh, about three hours, doing nothing. Well, maybe not nothing, but practically yes. It took me forever to load the stupid pdf, and when it finally did, I didn't print... stupid crappy dlam commerce comp lab... then, went to get lunch, put water in the soup, realize I didn't bring a utensil, realize that the lounge place ran out of forks, and made the treck to the deli to swipe a fork and walk back to angus (I assumed it was free though...?); how annoying... finally, bought $2 of printer-card thing for commerce (which is separate, doesn't have a card, and isn't able to show your balance), thinking that's why the print didn't work... got back to lab, sign on printer says out of order. STUPID DLAM COMMERCE COMP LAB... So, instead of leaving, I read hockey garbage for an hour... I realize my error and jump out of comp lab at 3:30pm...

Then, about five minutes ago, I went up to the comp lab on the 4th floor in Angus, and 2 minutes later, my homework's printed. I'm such an idiot.... don't think I'll be heading to David Lam anytime soon... at least, that's the theory (as I never get work done there...). I guess I'll come over and visit sometimes when Mohsin/Andrew/Jamieson/etc comes over there, but I won't automatically head over to David Lam. Gotta do this...

...wait a sec. When I get my laptop in (HOPEFULLY!) the next few weeks, the whole comp-lab frustrations will be moot... I so want my laptop now... I wants my student loan money NOW... ...

I think I'm still rather random, and I even had like 6-7 hours of sleep... still needs to catch up, perhaps...

I have to do my resume in the next couple of days. Not only resume, but like super-crazy CACEE form as well as normal resume... this sucks donkey nuts...

That last part's more vulgar written down than it was in my head... heheh, oops...

Time to head over to Koerner, grab a spot, sleep for an hour or two, do a couple hours of work... then, find partner, finish up the assignment due tomorrow, and hopefully by then it'll only be 9:30, and I'll have time to catch the 480...

Until next time, I guess...

[edit, 7:30pm - Well that was quick... blogging in David Lam... stupid me... and again, programs aren't working properly... this is stupid, I'm going to 4th floor...]

Weird Al!

Sure, it's been posted already, but this is just too awesome not to put on my blog:

HILARIOUS!

Also, something I found recently...

What happens if you mix Borat, Gnarles Barkley, and Star Wars? Well lets find out:

Yeah, Borat wasn't funny, imo... but, Gnarles Barkley, and Chewbacca drumming?? AWESOME.

In other news, longboat today was fun. Downtown, not so fun. Although, we did see the guy who wrote The Hockey Sweater (i.e., the story of the kid who wanted a Canadiens jersey, but got a Maple Leafs one), and we even got him to autograph a copy of the book! PRETTY COOL.

...I still have to do my resume for a job thing ending tomorrow at noon, a group assignment that's due on wednesday, as well as another group assignment due on tuesday in which we haven't started yet. Did I mention I got like 2 or 3 hours of sleep last night?

Did I also mention that I played CivIV on my dad's new comp for like five hours this afternoon also? Yeah, I'm an idiot... no, more like a freaking moron...

But back to youtube... I REALLY want to upload something, like, in the next few days... most likely it's going to be a vid of the giants game, the 4th goal scored, that my sister took. Not great quality, but we were front row, so the excitements right there, heheh... also, still learning that Jimmy Eat World song, but once I get decent enough for youtube, it'll be up... theoretically, at least, heh...

[p.s. - yeah, did the "here's some youtube vid" thing before my blogging this time... you know, so alls yalls who find this dribble boring won't have to wade through the garbage to find 'em... I'll see if I end up preferring it or not...]

[p.p.s. - this blog is kinda random, moreso than not. It's now 11:30pm. I think I'm just gonna cut my losses and go to bed... screw the great-pay faraway oil-company co-op job...]

Until next time, I guess...

AWESOMENESS!

My goodness, went to the Giants game tonight... HOLY CRAP, BEST GAME EVER!!!!! If you haven't heard already, the giants blew out the Portland Winterhawks 9-0!!! And what was even cooler?? FRONT ROW TICKETS!!! I was banging on the freaking glass for every single goal! And 6 goals were scored in the 2nd period, practically right in front of me! AWESOME!!!

Other things happened today, but this was just ridiculously amazing; trumps it all, heheh. Sooooo awesome... I so freaking wanna go again! And, I mean, for like $20, SOOOO worth it!

Heheh, my marks are so gonna drop...

Until next time, I guess...

Exerpts from Another Blog

Begin copy/paste:

I find that I'm liking emo, in general. Although, that whole emo-scene with the swoopy hair and eyeshadow and fishnet stockings etc, sooo retarded... and yes, I do mean slow in the head... but musically, I'm a fan. I guess it's kinda like punk music, in that although I thoroughly enjoy the music, the whole anarchy safety pin scene is kinda stupid to me. Sooo... can I like the music but reject the scene? I say yes... although, can you enjoy gangsta rap, but reject the whole money/sex/guns-is-cool thing? Who knows...

Also something I realized a long while ago. Many people don't enjoy the vocal gymnastics of R&B music *cough*Andrew*cough*, which is completely understandable. But I find that it is the exact same reason why many people dislike the eddie van halen, guitar shredding gymnastics of metal/rock. I mean, sure, they're showing off their amazing talents w/ their respective instruments, but does it really add to the song?? Many times, no it does not... but that's just my opinion...

And thus ends the copy/paste...

Until next time, I guess...

Friggin' Hell...

What a freaking day...

Woke up WAY later than I expected (considering I slept at like 10ish last night), and had to scramble to get to my doctor's appointment, to FINALLY put down a claim thing for the car accident I was in last saturday... I was told to take muscle relaxants. WTF. It's like 10x less than the accident I was in a few years ago, and I never had crap medicine then... seriously, wtf, I don't wanna take no friggin' muscle relaxants...

Then, as I was in a hurry to go to this doctor's appointment, I realize that I forgot to pay my Co-op fee. DUE TODAY. Explitive. But, I had to get to the post office, as I had to do my student loan stuff. I get there, and what's the first thing she says? "May I have your SIN card please?" ....FRICK! I left it in my other wallet... so, I drive alls the way back home...

Home, payed my co-op fee, got my SIN card, relaxed for a few minutes, get frickin' annoyed at my crappy family, then leave again.

I get to the post office, goes smoothly, then I get back to my car only to find a piece of paper on the windshield. WHAT THE F*CK, I WAS ONLY FREAKING EIGHT MINUTES! How in the hell does that even work... I never went anywhere else, the same cars were beside me as when I left my car, so WTF?!?! That really pissed me off... I ain't paying no crappy parking fine...

But I say screw it, and finally went shopping... I look around, go jeans shopping, and the only friggin pair that actually fits me nicely was the only label that wasn't on sale. WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT. I hate jeans shopping, something always goes wrong... but, again, I say screw it, time to look for shirts... so, I wander the mall, try well over a dozen shirts, and nothing fits me... I hate shopping for shirts WAAAYY more than shopping for jeans, and I do hate shopping for jeans... but, I get to the gameday store, look at the new canucks things they just got, and what do I see but a plethora of sizes that actually fit me! HOLY CRAP, JACKPOT! But then I look around and realize that 95% of this new stuff is complete garbage... just great... but, what was left was a fleece and a hoodie. I try the fleece, and yeah it's not bad, but then I try the hoodie... WHOA, AWESOME! It was like exactly what I've been looking for for the past, like, DECADE! So, I go ahead and buy it. SWEEEEET... until I realize that I spent over $100 on a frickin' hoodie... I guess the whole "whoa something that actually fits and looks good!" mania kinda took over... I hate myself...

So as I drive home, I realize that there's like NO gas in the tank, and I have no money... great, even more trouble for later on...

I get home, figure out some crap that I had to do (also ridiculously annoying), and basically spend the next few hours completely pissed off at everything. Even though I should be completely happy that I had the house to myself, as I usually enjoy it immensly with nobody at home... but, whenever I phone to see where everyone is, all it leads to is me being completely prissy and yelling at my family... I phoned at least half a dozen times, btw... so yeah, not the greatest day so far...

And to top it all off, the canucks are playing like shit... when it rains, it pours...

Until next time, I guess...

Jimmy Eat World - Kill

Jimmy Eat World - Kill

Well, you're just across the street
Looks a mile to my feet
I want to go to you
Funny how I'm nervous still
I've always been the easy kill
I guess I always will

Could it be that everything goes 'round by chance? (chance?)
Or only one way that it was always meant to be (be)
You kill me, you always know the perfect thing to say (hey hey, hey hey)
I know what I should do, but I just can't walk away

I can picture your face well
From the bar in my hotel
I wish I'd go to you
I pick up put down the phone
Like your favorite Heatmeiser song goes
It's just like being alone

Oh God, please don't tell me this has been in vain (vain)
I need answers for what all the waiting I've done means (means)
You kill me, you've got some nerve, but can't face your mistakes (hey hey, hey hey)
I know what I should do, but I just can't turn away

So go on love
Leave while there's still hope for escape
Got to take what you can these days
There's so much ahead
So much regret
I know what you want to say
(Know what you want to say)
I know it but can't help feeling differently
I loved you, and I should have said it
But tell me just what has it ever meant

I can't help it baby, this is who I am (am)
Sorry, but I can't just go turn off how I feel (feel)
You kill me, you build me up, but just to watch me break (hey hey, hey hey)
I know what I should do, but I just can't walk away

***

Okay, well, I hesitate to put up this song + lyrics, as there isn't really any real-life "oh thing song is soo me right now" connection... but, yeah, this song, soooo awesome... imo, of course... and yeah, it's fairly emo, so what? I like it... the way I see it, it has a great chance of becoming my next "Dumb Like That" song... heheh...

In unrelated news, I bought myself a pair of leather high-top chuck taylors today, heheh...

Until next time, I guess...

Stupid waste of a day...

I need a laptop. Like, NOW. Stupid commerce comps can't open files from hotmail...

class from 10-11:30, then nothing for the rest of the day... surfed the net for a couple hours, then waited/slept for 45mins 'til my group came. Then, as they basically did most of the work yesterday, the meeting was only like 10mins long, if that, and we didn't get any work done. Waste. Plus, waited 'til six

At least I went and bought a blueberry slushie from that bubble tea place in the SUB. Lemme tells you, DELICIOUS... and, nutritious? heheh...

Then, bus home, dinner, shower, and online... and now I'm friggin tired... but, I still have to do the group project meeting thing (to wrap things up) tonight, and I found that I have to pull together my other assignment thing also due tomorrow. Which'll probably take at least a few hours. STUPID SCHOOLWORK...

Now, if I had a laptop, I could've done all that junk while in school, instead of wasting my entire day doing diddly squat. That kinda pisses me off. Stupid everything...

Although, on a good note, my student loan signing-sheet thing came today, which means I'm one step closer to THE EDGE AND I'M ABOUT TO BREAK!!! Heheh, that came outta nowhere... what I really meant to say was that I'm that much closer to getting my student loan money, and therefore, my laptop. Can't friggin wait you guys... I needs it now!

Still kinda sore from the accident, and still kinda sore from what happened afterwards. If that makes sense to those who know and/or read this blog... wait, take out that "or" there, heh...

Aww man, it's 9:15pm, and I'm already rambly... man, I was all finally in schoolmode, and (as expected), stupid lack of sleep is throwing me back into the nether... time to do some hockey stuff...

Until next time, I guess...

[edit, late: I hate school. ... ...no, that's not it. I hate HOMEWORK. Always have, always will... although, I'm sure that if I lived on campus away from the distractions, that would alleviate most of the problems of not being able to do homework... in theory... man, I want out of this house so bad, but laziness always drags me back down...]

[edit, even later: still not done yet. Stupid everything. I hate distractions. But, this distraction is kinda awesome:

Better than Reuben!! Haha... just kidding man, lol... but, yeah this guys' THREE YEARS OLD!!! Daaang...]

[edit, super late: Stupid lack of communication... my partner finished up the thing, making the past 2 hours a waste of time. Awesome. I hate inefficiencies, almost as much as I hate "distractions"...]

Exponential Growth

My day, since the horror that was yesterday, has grown to be quite awesome.

First off, woke up to crappiness. That wasn't fun.

After a couple hours, I basically had enough; I took the car (after some debate as to my being able to take it), and drove to the library to study. This turned into stopping in at Richmond centre, while just as I walked inside I immediately got a call from my Tito Arthur (i.e., my uncle) saying that he had some specialty sausages he wanted me to have (and has been wanting to give to me for the past few days). Heheh. Sausages. But yeah, deeeliciousness... one was lamb sausage with rosemary, and the other was buffalo sausage with mint. Both accompanied by a good-crusty baguette. YUMMY. Ate about half of it in the food court...

Then, realized I had enough of the mall (as I wasn't really shopping for anything anyways), so I went into vancouver to hang out with some friends. Some friends being Krystle and Alan. Went to Krystle's to pick her up, stayed at her place for a bit, then grabbed some boxes to bring to Alan/Tim's place to help facilitate their move to a much more awesome location of Balsam and 2nd ave. A couple minutes shaved to get to UBC, but more importantly, RIGHT NEXT TO THE BEACH. Suh-wheeet... But I digress. Krystle and I then went to Alan's. Tim was climbing a glacier still, heheh...

Got to Alan's, realized we were completely bored, so we decided to head over to the beach. As it was raining, we took my car (as a 10-block walk to the beach in the rain is long and annoying...). Let me tell you guys, going to the beach when it's raining is AWESOME. Especially with good friends... thought it was a dumb idea krystle had, but man it really was quite nice... but yeah, skipped a few stones, walked around Kits, good times... I should so live in Vancouver...

Anyways, we had enough w/the beach (mostly tired of the rain actually), so we drove back to Alan's. At this time, after much deliberation, we settled on ordering pizza and watching a movie. Although, as there was a lack of tv at his place, it was more what movies were there to watch on Alan's laptop... heheh... but yeah, after ordering the pizza (which in itself took quite a while deciding on where/what/etc), there was an hour wait until it would arrive. Krystle napped, Alan cleaned up a bit, practiced some guitar, hung out w/ me, etc etc, while I mostly played CivIV on Tim's computer. LOL. And yeah, SOOO ADDICTIVE, especially with a computer actually fast enough to run it properly, heheh... continued to play it several minutes after the pizza arrived, lol...

But I finally cut myself off from the just-one-more-turn addictiveness and we started watching a movie. That movie being Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. NIIIIIIICE, lol... I mean, there were other movies that I haven't seen on Alan's comp, but Krystle never saw it, and as it's basically my favourite movie, she wanted to see what all the fuss was about... although, by the end, she was more dazed and confused than anything else, heheh... but, that's to be expected the 1st time around, I guess... and although I did kinda feel somewhat depressed after watching that dark movie, the best part about watching was definately the discussion that occured afterwards. I.e., relational discussions...

Basically, after talking a bit about it, Krystle basically completely agreed w/ me in how this movie is completely COMPLETELY about me. Heheh. I'm soooo Joel. Or Jim Carrey, to those who don't remember his character's name... found that I can talk about my previous relationship w/o becoming all moody and such. At least, w/ Krystle and Alan, heheh... anyways, moved onto Krystle's relational dilemmas, which were interesting to talk about... and then, Tim came back, lol...

Krystle wanted to have some fun, so she hid in the closet right away... now remember, Tim went away for the weekend to climb a glacier w/ a bunch of other UBC outdoor clubbers, so when he came in, he went straight for the bathroom, lol... everyone was laughing, heheh... well, more stifled chuckling as Krystle was still "hiding", which included changing back into her pants from the shorts she borrowed from Alan due to rainyness... hahaha, very quickly/quitely changing as Tim was indisposed... lol... so, w/ Krystle hiding in the closet, Tim started unpacking, showed us the icepick and toe clips (coooool), chatting it up, and as he was putting stuff away, he opened the closet, then BOOO krystle jumped out and scared the CRAP outta Tim, hahaha... it was hilarious... but yeah, talked it up a bit more, then Krystle had to get home, plus I had some group homework to take care of...

So, dropping Krystle home, I had extra time (as Yukie, my group partner, hadn't phoned me yet), so we talked a bit about stuff. Good talk and such. So yeah, after dropping her off, tried phoning Yukie again, but still couldn't get a hold of her (as she was still having dinner etc w/ a friend from out of town who she hasn't seen in like 2 yrs, understandable...), so I decided that I might as well just drive to UBC anyways. So, I get there, and park in that fortinek visitor parking for the time being, and did stuff to pass the time. However, like 5 mins after doing so, Yukie phones me up saying she's going to be late, as she just finished dinner, and is still hanging out w/ the friend of hers. However, she did say that I could just stay at her dorm for the time being, and would phone her sister to let me in (as her sister's her roommate). I thought cool, outta my car and outta the rain, good deal... so I park around thunderbird and go to her dorm.

I decide that I might as well start the assignment, and let me tell you, I thought it was a BREEZE! Was kinda worried, 'cause Yukie said that she didn't know how to do it, and considering it was one of those 2-pages-of-info with a "should you lease the equipment or not" required (...soooo annoying!). But yeah, knew exactly what to do, and an hour and a bit later, I was basically done! Now, she has still yet to come back, so I decide to leaf through my other school stuff, read a bit, organize binders etc... and man, it felt GOOD. Almost as if, dare I say it, I was back into school-mode! NIIIICE! But yeah, after like half an hour of that, I was like yeah, nothing else to do... so, I turned on the tv, lol... [yukie's sister was busy doing her hw upstairs or something, btw]... by this time, it was like nearly midnight, so after catching the tail end of mythbusters, I ended up watching the first bit of sportnet news, meaning, I watched the thing about the canucks scrimmages. And, lo and behold, right after the canucks thing finished, Yukie comes in! Haha... perfect timing, indeed...

But yeah, she came back, we talked a bit, and then I walked her through how I answered the assignment. That felt goood, knowing what I'm doing... so yeah, even moreso than the school stuff, just hanging out and talking w/ Yukie was coool... I found that being social while doing schoolwork makes everything go smoother... of course, this has to be social within the doing-work context, i.e. with people who are doing the same-ish work as I'm doing, lol... not quite the same w/ like Andrew or Mohsin study times, heheh... but yeah,

Also made me realize that I would LOOOVE dorm life. My goodness, I'd get so much work done if I can just go to my dorm after class and study... and, you know, actually be able to study, lol... the dorms in thunderbird are AMAZING you guys... heheh... but I digress...

Anyways, by the time I left Yukie's place, it was quarter to one, and it was still pissing rain... driving home in the rain, when using a car in which you don't trust the traction, down marine drive where it's easy to be doing 80 while taking a sharp turn... not so fun, heheh... but hey, it was alll worth it when they started playing Goldfinger - 99 Red Balloons on the Zone... AWESOMENESS!!! Oh man, I was like yelling along, and spouting out gibberish during the german part... lol, sooo much fun when there's nobody in the car and you can just belt it... heheh...

Anyways, got home, showered, computer, printed out notes, read my other group project thing my group members wrote up (as I was kinda busy w/ crap matters earlier), andthen blogged. For waaaay to long, lol...

Wow... lateness breeds lengthy posts indeed... well, as do awesome moods, lol... although, it's now waaay past 3am, and I have class in less than 7 hrs... meaning, I gotta wake up in less than 5 hours... man, just as I get into school-mode, I have to ruin it all by staying up so danged late... heheh...

But yeah, point is, today was nice. Heheh... I mean, today was the most [explitive] best night of my life! ... haha, ESotSM...

Until next time, I guess...

Definately one of the worst days ever.

My Other Hockey Pool!

Hey guys, this question is pertaining to my other hockey pool, the one I held last year.

You see, we're allowed to keep two franchise players from our team last year. Although, near the end I panic'd during the playoffs, and pretty much blew up my team, not knowing that I could've kept 2 players... but, anyways, the point is this:

Which two players should I keep?

Getzlaf (C)
Yzerman (C) --> RETIRED
Ekman (LW/RW)
Hossa (RW)
Bernier (RW)
Gomez (C)
Staal (C)
Koivu (C)

Bouwmeester (D)
Schneider (D)
Klesla (D)
Jovanovski (D)

Huet (G)
Legace (G)

--

Anyways, right off the bat, I'm thinking of keeping Staal and Hossa, as they're the high-scorers... but, then again, Huet was awesome for me last year, and Goalies have like 3/9 categories in the pool, so I'm thinking of Huet... defence is kind of a waste to pick... Gomez seems like another pick (and I stupidly dropped Elias trying to get through the playoffs, heheh...)

To those who aren't interested in hockey pools, sorry for this unnecessary reading, heheh...

Until next time, I guess...

Crazy Awesome!

Or, is it crazy, and then awesome...? Heheh...

Today was fun. Although, school wasn't very. No, wait, more specifically my classes sucked... heheh, I'll just start from the top...

Mornings suck. Period. Busride to school, nice, in the annoying couldn't sleep until we got to ubc kinda way... but then I met Mohsin and Rob (and, other kwantlen guy I've never met, heheh), so morning was fun.

Then I had my finance class. ANNOYING. I've taken it before, and the stupid UBC phD prof guy's making the class WAAAYYY more complicated then it has to be... he's like, deriving formulas and crap, and everyone's asking how he's doing it, and wasting class time, when inevitably all we're going to use it the stupid CCA formula anyways... at BCIT, it's all "here's the formula to get the answer. If anyone's interested in how we derive it, come talk to me in my office hours." PERFECT. Especially since it's such a waste of time for future accountants...

Afterwards, met up w/ Mohsin and other kwantleners, along with Reuben. Then, after guiding them around the SUB for a while, Mohsin and others went off to class, while Reuben and I had lunch and listened to the band. The band being The Perms, I believe. They were pretty awesome, I must say. Then, we wandered around aimlessly, while having a hearty religious discussion, until he had class. Then, David Lam comp lab 'til my class started....

And MAN, this class is also incredibly annoying... it's Philosophy of God/Religion, and it's sooo different from what I was expecting... I was thinking, oh, phil of religion, it's like tons of discussions and debates and opinions flying in class, etc etc, should be awesome... but instead I find out it's basically a history of beliefs about God. And the guy can't freaking teach! On top of that, it's a 3 hr class, in a super stuffy hot room in the new Buch. D sanitarium (if you've been in there, you know what I mean), and he doesn't take a break! It's just, 2 and a half hours of straight lecturing... DEATH BY BOREDOM! Holy crap... and what makes it that much worse, it's one of those unstructured arts classes, where you have to attend class to get the notes, and by notes I mean listen to the guy speak then write it down... HORRIBLE... that being said, as a class, it's really not that bad, and I'll probably stick it out anyways... although, when I got that email from UBC reminding about being able to drop a class, man I sure thought about it...

After class though, my day went from alright to AWESOME, heheh...

The night before, Krystle said she was wanting to hang out this week w/ me and Valen... I suggested thursday night, as I don't have friday classes, but Krystle had classes... friday we're at church anyways, so that meant, yup, going out on wednesday! Although, krystle already was offline by the time Valen and I made the plan, lol... so, phoned her today at work, asked if she could come out, and sure enough we went out!

So, after class, I picked up Krystle, drove to her place (as she just got off of work), picked up Valen in Burnaby, and went off from there!

Wandered around metrotown figuring out what to do, then we decided to have chinese food at that restaurant on the corner of Kingsway, where metrotown starts... and yeah, this is the same place where I went to every week while at BCIT, for Dim Sum Mondays! Aww man, going back there was incredibly nostalgic... and yeah, Krystle Valen and I hung out, quite the awesome time...

After fooding, we went for bubble tea at, what's that place, little tea house, or something? I never remember names of bubble tea places... but yeah, we got our bubble tea, and decided to hang out in front of that double-dolphin fountain at station square... just hanging out, even if relatively chilly (esp. w/ bubble tea), sooo much fun...

Actually, that was basically the whole outing, lol... but, I guess it's kinda hard to blog about the specifics of the hanging out, 'cause it's was just like conversations and whatever, heheh... although, I did show them my jump-heelclick looka-like-a-leprechaun thing, lol...

We did talk briefly about this being a regular occurrence, as we're both pretty much free on mondays... my goodness, now that would be spectacularly awesome if I'm able to pull this off, school-wise... heh...

Anyways, dropped Valen off, then went into Vancouver... and, all of a sudden, MONSOOON!!! Holy crap, it just started to POUR! It was just ridiculous how much rain was coming down, esp. since it was such a sunny cloudless day today... yeah, stayed at Krystle's place to let it die down for a bit, although it was cut short 'cause I was practically parked in front of a fire hydrant, lol... but yeah, drove back home, CRAZY FLOODING, esp. on Main and 49th... so yeah, definately monsooon, lol... although, it was quite fun / beautiful driving through it all...

Anyways, got home, showered, went on the comp... and subsequently wasted all my time, haha...

Until next time, I guess...

p.s. - Haha, looks like I'm back to doing my crazy boring, long-ass posts about the goings-on of my day... meaning, I'm coming out of my semi-funk! SWEETNESS! Although, it's now nearly midnight, and I've still gotta do my CACEE form for tomorrow... HOLY CRAP IT'S SUPPOSED TO TAKE LIKE TWO HOURS... harsh... heh...

Changes...

More specifically, the new youtube video player change.

WTF??

My first reaction (after the initial WTF, what's going on?? kinda reaction) was that of, man this is weird. My second reaction was, what no volume slider anymore?? WHAT THE HELL IS THIS CRAP?? Third reaction... crud, guess I'll have to get used to it...

That's about it, for now...

Until next time, I guess...

EDIT: As it turns out, the main viewer, i.e. not the embedded video player, still has a volume slider... in that case, I can see myself liking this new style of theirs... and, as a plus, that big slider's way easier to control now, imo...

Ahh, school...

First week felt like a blur.

This weekend felt like a blur.

It's like the last week of my life didn't really happen...

Here's to yet another first day of school... at least, that's how it feels...

Until next time, I guess...

Okay, that was just gloomy. Here's something to cheer you guys up:

Woo! New Winekone!

Haha, Chorus To My Song

Heheh, check out Valen's blog... parodies are AWESOME...

Until next time, I guess...

Gym Class Heroes

MAN, these guys are awesome... I could describe, but it'd be much easier to just show 'em to ya... here's some examples of the awesomeness...

Cupid's Chokehold - It's what made me get into this band:

This next one's called New Friend Request, lyrically AMAZING, and obviously hilarious... about myspace addiction, heheh... and yeah, loving the blue guitar...

Haha, xoxo -dash- Travis... BRILLIANT...

And yeah, this last one's just cool, lol... called Taxi Driver...

And yeah, they're WAY better live, or so I've been told... this song included, esp. since they start off playing Dance Dance, and they're like, yo you all know this song! Yeah, it's called Taxi Driver! And then they play their song, lol...

Yeah, they were at warped tour this year, a friend of mine took a minute vid of 'em... man, now I wish I went...

Until next time, I guess...

I'm On Youtube?!?!

LOL, I didn't know I was on youtube...

Here's me w/ Catherine (behind the cam), Dorothy, Kimmy, and Valen at the nightmarket.

And here's a glimpse of me playing the bass, sitting on the bass amp, as the camera pans over from John and Winston. [btw, I'm just fooling around on the bass, and hence, I sound TERRIBLE, lol...]

Heheh, so surreal...

Until next time, I guess...

Edit: Lol, this one's for Reuben... keep in mind that the guy is friggin' 2 yrs old!

BEAUTIFUL

Solidifies my belief that I should've been born a decade earlier... man, I love the 90's...

Until next time, I guess...

Youtube semi-rantings...

I wanna make a youtube vid. Most likely consisting of me playing the guitar and singing, i.e. doing an acoustic cover. Although, I'm not to sure which one I want to do first... but, here's what I'm thinking so far...

Death Cab for Cutie - I Will Follow You Into The Dark
--> But everyone does this, and my non-capo playing seems slighly strange... but, sooo fun to play...

M2M - Don't Say You Love Me
--> Haven't seen anyone do this yet, and I play it well, and it's fun to play... but, M2M to start??

Barenaked Ladies - Take It Outside
--> I LOVE this song, and play it relatively well... but, would anyone else know it??

Vroom - Dumb Like That
--> My favourite song of all time... but, haven't mastered the guitar... i.e., won't be that good...

Well, there's more, but it kinda peters off from there...

Edit: I remembered a couple more top prospects...

Sister Hazel - All For You
--> The first song I ever learned... well, kinda learned, don't know how to do the solo... and hence the hesitations...

Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want
--> Pretty much the 2nd song I ever learned... I really like it... although, I found out now that I learned an incorrect version of it... so, would I play the one I learned, or learn the proper??

Barenaked Ladies - Jane
--> First finger-picky song I ever learned... again, probably incorrectly, but fun to play... although, I don't think I play it particularly well, so probably won't be the 1st one...

Anyways, does anyone out there in bloggerland have any opinions on this? Or, perhaps, a request for me to do something else?? lol... but yeah, just wondering about your opinions on all this junk...

Oh, and on a similar youtube note, as Mohsin's back from wherever, he's gonna be getting the band video up soon. At least, that's the theory, heh...

Anyways, this next vid I'm posting has nothing to do about anything... it's just a vid of Joey/Esther's kid Owen being cute... lol, yeah baby...

And if you listen carefully, you can hear my dinky laughter in the background too...

Until next time, I guess...

Randomness before class

I need a friggin' laptop... these junky computers are annoying... I mean, can't even watch youtube properly...

I have to start studying, but w/o a locker, and w/o any motivation to read first week, I'm already kinda behind...

Hockey pool is half full! Oh no, better sign up quick!

I have homework I need to do before classes start. It's 9:40. Class starts at 10. So, basically, I'm kinda screwed. But, you know, oh well...

I read on the bus to school today. Made me ridiculously sleepy. Perhaps I should just sleep in the mornings, heheh... but, I forgot to bring my mp3 player... D'OH...

Enough of this junk, I've got work to do...

Until next time, I guess...

First Day of School...

...and I'm already failing!" heheh...

But yeah, as it turns out, I only freakin' got 2 hrs of sleep last night... but first things first...

Monday noonish, all you can eat w/ kris rob and, freshly jetlagged, moe! It was fun, and delicious... couldn't decide what to do, moe became sleepy, etc etc, so we went our separate ways at about 3:30-4ish, I think...

Then, after having some time to digest, decided to go out again w/ a different group of friends, heheh... went to vancouver, picked up Tim and Alan, and THEN Krystle (making me drive across vancouver, heheh...), and we ended up picking up bubble tea in burnaby and hung out with Valen... and Kim, eventually, heheh... just sat in the yard, drinkin' the bubble tea... awesome way to spend the last day of freedom... and yeah, I still owe Alan one... starfruit is freakin' NASTY! Heheh...

But yeah, it became dark, got chilly, so we eventually made our way inside Valen/Kim's place and watched Bedazzled... and, I must say, I very much enjoyed that movie, lol... and having one of my favourite Sister Hazel songs end the movie? The friggin' icing on the cake, I tells ya! Heheh...

But yeah, about 10:30ish, school for peoples, so we left... and after I dropped everyone off and got home, it was already like 11:30, heheh... so after shower etc, it was midnight, I figured that I might as well spend a couple minutes on the comp, relax a bit before school... and then I realized... I still had to print my freaking notes!!! GAH!

So, after figuring out how to use my printer again after 4 months (after many near-paper-jams), and after an hour has passed, I printed out most of my notes. But, lo and behold, as I come across COMM 353, I realize that I actually have homework due tomorrow! HOLY CRAP, WTF?!?! Although yeah, it's a stupid student bio, and it's for bonus marks, but STILL! Gahhhhh.... I hate realizing at 1am that I have homework due the next day...

So, by the time I finish that, and print out the rest of my notes, it's already like 2:30am... so, I figure, I have to wake up at seven, time for bed... so, I go to bed, get myself all comfy, turn on my mp3 player, and... what, where's the music?? Firmware problems??? Again?!?! WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!

Now, as I was rather aggrivated at the time, I lost all sleepiness whatsoever, so I figured I might as well fix it again... did it before, should only take like a minute or so... but, wait, oh man, what the heck did I do before?! IT'S NOT WORKING!!! Gah... and after like half an hour of being stubborn, I caved and looked up some creative forums to fix my microphoto... a few minutes later, I find out how to fix it. Doii...

So, I reload my firmware... doesn't work... reload firmware... doesn't work... RELOAD THE FRIGGIN FIRMWARE!!! And doesn't work... by this time, I'm ridiculously frustrated, as it's like 3:30 in the friggin morning, and I've gotta wake up in like less than 4 hours, for my first freaking day of school, and this stupid mp3 player isn't working... so, I say screw it, I'm reformatting the harddrive, AGAIN... 2 minutes later, it works again... stupid everything...

But, now I had to reload some freakin' songs! No point in spending all this time w/o having any music to listen to tomorrow... so, I download songs... and, as I expected (due to my obviously horrible luck), the program freezes up... dag nabbit... but I ctrl+alt+del, etc etc, start it again... and finally at 4:30, I had a reasonable amount of music on my player... so, as it's crazy ass late, I go to bed...

Except, now I'm all freakin' riled up... tried to sleep for half an hour, couldn't do it... at 5am, I figured, I might as well get my backpack etc all ready and whatever instead of doing it in the morning... so, I gather my binders, I gather my paper, my clipboards... grab a bite to eat (as I was STARVING by 5:15), and finally went to bed... two hours later, I'm awake again...

Now, I was supposed to wake up at 7 so charissa could wake up 7:15 as wa planned earlier... however, as I was late, she was late, and as she had a 9am class while mine's at 10am, she's rather annoyed at me... so, I rush, grab my already-packed bag (yay me!), and rush out the door at quarter to 8... we catch the 480 just as it's leaving the stop in front of the staples/canadatrust area... and, guess what, I was the last guy to be allowed onto the bus! Whoa, timing... but yeah, that meant a whole 40mins on a cramped bus, standing dangerously near the front windshield... not terribly fun, was hoping for nice relaxing seat w/ my mp3 player...

Anyways, we get to school, charissa's a little early for class, leaving me w/ nothing to do for an hour... I wander around, see a couple sauder people from last year, buy myself a spinach and cheese thing from that cheapo place in the SUB, go on the comp for a few minutes, then head off into class...

I sit down, pull out my clipboard, reach for my pen..nnnn... oh holy crap, don't tell me that I... OH MAN, HOW THE HELL DID I FORGET TO BRING A F***IN PENCIL?!?! Gah, stupid rushing, and stupid assuming I packed everything... Needless to say, not a great way to start to this academic year, heheh... So anyways, yeah, I borrow off people in my first two classes (drudging through the horribleness of lack-of-sleep and boring use-the-whole-time-lecturing-about-nothing classes)...

Then, meet up w/ Johnny at lunchbreak, give text, hang out for a bit, see May, we hang out also... rather enjoyable break, esp. with the free leftover food from the firstyear commerce thing, although I really REALLY wanted to be at home and napping... but, I trudge along to my last class, my most important class of the year (intermediate accounting, comm 353, w/ the rest of my co-op classmates), while being all super tired... and, although I was nodding off w/ the sun on my back in class, Kiu's an awesome teacher, and made the class fun.

And then I decided to blog instead of going home. Yay me...

I still need to pay my $200+/credit tuition. And buy my books. And, by myself some freaking PENS... my goodness, heheh...

But enough with this horrid outlook, at least monday was an incredibly fun day (barring the nighttime frustrations), and at least I have fridays off to look forward to... so yeah, can only go up from here, hopefully...

Until next time, I guess...

p.s. - I take it not many people are interested in the pool, unless my indirect blogging method is the reason for the nonparticipation... next time I'm on msn, must start to hound people to join...

Hockey Pool

Anybody wanna join my new hockey pool? Just for fun, of course...

Yahoo, it'll be head-to-head scoring (if you've used yahoo pool before...), draft date on friday sept. 29th at 11:30am (sorry, 'twas the best I could do...). But yeah, should be crazy fun!

I got 12 spots available, currently filled by the following:

- Me (Justin)
- Shaylene (My Sister)
- [Maria] Teresita, a.k.a. Sita (My Cousin)

--> List will be updated

So, only [9] spots available you guys! First come first serve!

Until next time, I guess...

Les Paul, among other things...

I wanna buy a Les Paul. The classic/standard kind. Goldtop looks cool. Also normal sunburst-y.

Just one problem. TOO FREAKING EXPENSIVE!!! It's like $2000 at least, from what I've been seeing online... don't want no stupid melody maker... although, the blue vixen looks pretty cool, but that's still like a grand... perhaps in a few more years...

My church has a Les Paul. It's very nice....

Man, I stayed up 'til like 6:30am looking up this Les Paul stuff.

Well, that, and listening to a whole bunch of so-called third-wave emo... and, yeah, they SUCK.

Hawthorne Heights: SUCKS.
Taking Back Sunday: SUCKS.
Dashboard Confessional: SUCKS. Well, for the most part... annoying wispiness...
Finch: SUCKS. Although, not as hard as the others... I can actually see myself liking them someday... but for now, SUCKS... ... ...actually, I take that "someday" comment back. Too whiney/screamy pop-vocally annoying...

Hmm... perhaps I get horribly blunt at 7am... SUCKS, heheh... not usually that strongly opinionated, I don't think... but no matter...

That being said, I still like Death Cab for Cutie. And earlier, 90's emo, i.e. Sunny Day Real Estate, Jimmy Eat World... and yeah, I also kinda like Fugazi, however strange they are, but yeah they're more influential-to-emo than emo... Man, I so should've been born like a decade earlier...

Anyways, for the last bit of this post, I found some uber-nostalgia from my grade 10... although, beware, as it's pretty vulgar... and, you know, probably not relevant to like 95% of the people who read my blog... but no matter... Azn Pride, yo...

Until next time, I guess...

Been Awhile...

Seems like I'm always the one starting the conversations. Can't remember the last time somebody messaged me on their own. That's kinda depressing.

Although, I'm not really blaming you guys. 'Cause you guys are awesome, more or less. I'm just realizing that if I don't start the convo, I'll be in for a lonely night. Generally speaking, that is.

Edit - I remembered an exception, but doesn't count due to the irregularity of replies / constant on-off-without-warning annoyances... and I'm sure those of you who know who I'm talking about, know what I'm talking about... heh...

Anyways, I've also realized that posts w/ youtube vids have more comments, and as I'm feeling rather comment-whory tonight, here's a gem I thought I'd throw down for you guys...

Whoa, HILARIOUS!! 'Twas a good short-term distraction, is 'pwat it was...

Until next time, I guess...
