Stupid Power Outage...

I had a big rant all lined up to be posted, and then there was a stupid power outage... and now my stupid post is no longer in existance... so annoying...

Anyways, here's the jist of what I wrote about:

1) 99.9% likelihood of new accomodations.
2) 2 Midterms and a Project due, of which I haven't done anything for. Looking to allnighter the project, stupid marketing...
3) I haven't seen most of you guys in what seems like forever. Making me think leaving Richmond won't be such a big deal afterall, socially speaking.
4) Something I remember being relatively important, but have forgotten at the moment.

So there you have it. Come to think of it, I think my rant would've been kinda boring. So I guess you guys should thanks the outage, heheh...

That being said, it's now 2:30am, and I haven't done any of the studying I was expecting to do tonight. And now I'll probably spend at least half an hour printing out notes and other such study materials. There goes my wake-up-early-and-study hopefulness... Oh well...

Until next time, I guess...

[edit, 2+ hrs later - Yup, here I am. Awake at 4:40am. Stupid printer wasn't working properly, took WAAY too long to print out notes. Didn't even go over marketing project stuff. Oh well, screwed am I, 'tis alright...

But yeah, haven't checked youtube in a while, and lookie what Valen put up:

It's Kim's solo from No Greater Love! THAT'S SOO AWESOME, I love that part... so catchy too... and also, if you look carefully, that's me in the corner playing the drums... I need to work on fills, lol...]

when i get home I shall listen, but maybe you should thank the power outage as I wouldn't have commented otherwise since the post would've been so long, I'd have skipped it ;).

Do you play the hi-hat in unison with the bass on purpose or are you just not used to putting the bass between the hi-hat hits?

If you're having trouble getting used to it, try counting out loud with the 1 e and a 2 e and etc. Put the hi-hats on the numbers as well as the ands, and the bass on the "e" and "a".

Naw, that's a mic problem... I'm playing a steady beat on the hi-hat, with an off-beat bass beat, and whenever you hear the hi-hat w/ bass it's the left-foot-lift thing. Check out the hand motions... but yeah, I find it difficult to hold the hi-hat pedal down on the electronic drums, you have to make sure it's completely down or else it doesn't pick up... so, that could be it too.

So the beat's
1 2 3 4
boom-bo-TA booom-boom-TA boom
boom-bo-TA booom-boom-TA
etc.
And the hi-hat pedal lift is on the pickup to the 4th beat. Fairly regular.
(hopefully this format works and doesn't confuse...)

And counting out loud? Seriously? Sheesh... only wussies and those-without-natural-rhythm count out loud... and as I am neither of the two, I shall do no such thing... heheh...

crud... didn't work... 1 over first "boom", 2 over first "TA", 3 over the dash between "booom-boom", and 4 over the last "TA"...

Although I know I'm just confusing everything at this point... dag nabbit...

Yeah, it's the mic in combination with the hi-hats not staying closed.
