NOOOO!!!

Holy Fudge, no more MxTabs?!?!

I have completely lost my faith in the music industry... first lyrics were taboo, and now tablature... stupid money grubbing whore mongers...

Oh well, I guess it's back to Ultimate Guitar for me then...

Until next time, I guess...

But note that they said "To this date, we have not received any threatening letters, but are closing on our own volition."

So I don't exactly buy the story that it's the music industry shutting them down.

Basically what happened was that they shut down as an act of good faith and lost a whole bunch of visitors. When they brought it back up, the demand wasn't close to as high and the site effectively died.

I still post on Musician's Forums regularly, so that's the story I got off there.

"Mxtabs was reopened in February with the hope of receiving some sort of response; with the lack of that response, it is sadly time to close."

Sounds about right... I'm thinking the "over $3000 per month in sales" of sheet music significantly declined when they reopened. I mean, what were they hoping for, sales to increase to $10k, and thus convincing the companies to reconsider liscencing?
