I want to buy a bike. Any idea on what I should get? Budget is around $500...

I have a Giant Cypress. It's called a "hybrid" bike as it is a mountain bike-style frame with thinner wheels. So it's better on roads, but can still do trails. I like it.

But if you plan on doing serious off-roading, then I would recommend a plain old mountain bike.

I would recommend you go down to Bicycle Sports Pacific. They're downtown on Pacific St. I got mine there and they were really good. Also, it's approaching the end of summer, so I'm sure you'll find some good deals.
